A&W Restaurant - Classic Fast Food with Fresh Burgers, Root Beer & Iconic Drive-In Experience in Stayton, OR

This place brought me back to an earlier time in life. The place is how an A&W should be. Drive up service, drive through and dine in. The food was hot, fresh, and very reasonably priced. I was not disappointed.

Decided to stop here heading back from bend and it did not disappoint. Friendly people at the drive through. Food came quick, hot, and fresh. Burger, fries, chicken strips, shake were all so good.

The breading on the chicken sliders was SO GOOD! We loved the nostalgia of the dine-in experience. I got a strawberry banana shake, and my fiance got a float. Everything hit the spot perfectly.

Awesome A&w location! They have the orange phones in the booths so you can order from your table like back in the Good days! There's also covered drive in spots so you park and eat in your rig, so cool! There's also a drive-thru if you're looking to grab n go!! Give them a try, Way better than McDonald's!!!

What a gem this place is! It's got that old school feeling and just takes you back! Food was delicious and of course the Root Beer is fabulous! The crew is friendly, helpful, and courteous too. I didn't even know there was an A&W in Stayton! I promise I'll be back! A must visit for that classic, old school drive in restaurant!

It was great to find this old school, order-from-your-car iconic relic of my childhood. Nostalgia at its best! To top it off the burgers and shakes are excellent. We really enjoyed the deep fried cheese curds!

BEST Onion Rings Ever! I’m 78 and have eaten a lot of onion rings in my life. Crunchy, hot, and NOT greasy, and so many they overflowed the bag they came in. The picture was taken after I had eaten half the onion rings and was almost too full to even start on the Mushroom Burger. The burger was good too! Service was excellent and order was prompt. The only thing I missed was having a “frosted” mug. Great all round experience and fun trip back in time.

A&W delivered a great experience overall. The food was tasty, the service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting. I also appreciated that they have a playground area—it’s a thoughtful feature that adds charm to the location, even if I didn’t use it myself. The only real downside is the parking lot layout. Once you park, you’re basically trapped if the drive-thru line is long—it blocks the exit and many of the parking spaces. You have to wait for the drive-thru traffic to clear just to get out, which can be a hassle. It’s a small but frustrating issue at an otherwise excellent spot.
